What brought you to Northern College?

Originally from the community and wanted to stay in my community to get my post-secondary education. Growing up my family didn't have much money and my parents couldn't afford to provide me with the necessary funds to go to college. I didn't want to have large school loans when done so having a program I was interested in right in my home town made the decision pretty easy.

Tell us about your favourite Northern College experience?

I had a close friend from high-school who decided to attend Northern as well in the same program as me. This made things even more enjoyable as we would be able to study together and help each other out. This definitely made the experience that much more enjoyable.

What impact has Northern College had on your life?

It truly showed me how transformational post-secondary education can be for someone. I am the first person in my immediate family to graduate from college and go on to get my degree, masters and CPA designation. This all started here at Northern College. I can honestly say the sky is the limit when you decide to embark in a post-secondary education. Doors open when you have a diploma, and/or a degree. I honestly feel that employers know when you show them you have a college diploma, you gained that additional hands-on knowledge during your studies that puts you ahead of many other individuals.

What are you up to now?

Well I'm happy to say I've been appointed the President and CEO of Northern College. An organization that taught me the knowledge I needed to get that first public accounting job and has led me to the top position at the post-secondary school that started it all for me. I always wanted a CEO job but never thought it would be at Northern College. I couldn't be happier!

Where are you living now?

I've remained in Timmins and enjoying the lifestyle that the North provides.
